Cassandra Diaz, MAc, Lic.Ac., Dipl.Ac.
In 2014 Cassie graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture located in Newton, MA where she earned a Master of Acupuncture degree focusing on Chinese Style Acupuncture. Throughout her 3 years at the New England School of Acupuncture her studies included intense study of the theory and practice of Chinese Style Acupuncture, both Western and Chinese nutrition, Oriental bodywork and a strong foundation in the western medical sciences. After finishing the graduate program at NESA, Cassie completed all the required national board exams and is a Licensed Acupuncturist by the Board of Registration of Medicine in Massachusetts and Connecticut. She is also certified as a Diplomate of Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). In addition to opening Easthampton Community Acupuncture in 2015, Cassie's clinical experience includes working at the Boston VA Hospital in Jamaica Plain, the Elder Service Plan of the North Shore located in Lynn, MA, the Shattuck Lemuel Hospital located in Jamaica Plain, the Malden Family Clinic and the clinic at the New England School of Acupuncture. In 2019 Cassie also began treating at the Holyoke Council on Aging.
Prior to her acupuncture studies, Cassie is a graduate of Suffield Academy in Suffield, CT and then went on to earn her Bachelor's degree from Providence College studying both Biology and Spanish. While in college and graduate school Cassie worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant in the assisted living, nursing home, home health and hospice settings. She came to be interested in acupuncture after seeking treatment for debilitating migraines while in high school.
Although Cassie works with all conditions, she has special interest in fertility and other women's health concerns, pediatrics, anxiety and depression and pain. Cassie and her husband, Jose, have two children- Adrian and Mateo. Adrian is diagnosed with a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy called Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2. Through Adrian's journey Cassie has developed special interest in working with neuromuscular conditions and other rare diseases.
